Motherhood is one of the most exciting experiences there is in life.

Motherhood is all about experiencing joy, heartache, and all emotion in between as you raise your child. Moms shape the world for them as they grow up and would play a lot of roles in their child’s life, performing each role gracefully and admirably.

Most of the time, mothers may not say it out loud, motherhood can be hard and challenging. Moms do not make a big deal out of it but they definitely go through plenty of struggles – which a lot of times they keep only to themselves.

Here are some of the common parenting struggles and challenges of motherhood moms go through which are rarely talked about:

1. Having no one to share the load with

Being a parent is a 24/7 job. While there are mothers who are lucky enough to have someone they can count on for help, a lot of moms do not have the same luxury. Most of the time moms are left alone at home especially during the day to do everything by herself and it can get overwhelming.

2. You have no right to complain

Motherhood is all about going through different challenges and difficult times especially when raising a child. But no matter how much hard it gets or tired they get, moms think that they have no right to complain when it comes to their children. As a mother, often they are expected to be patient and unconditionally care for their family regardless of how challenging it gets.

3. Having to set her own problems aside

Moms, whether working or staying at home, do their best to take care of their family. At the end of the day, moms get tired or frustrated of their own problems yet they try to make sure that they are still available to cater to their children’s needs. Whether it is listening to their kid’s day or making sure that food is always ready for the family.

4. Keeping patience

Having a lot of patience is required when you become a mother. In raising a child, you will go through a lot of disciplining and dealing with your child’s bad behavior. No matter how stressful and frustrating it gets, moms keep a lot of patience in dealing with challenges as such

5. Lack of sleep or rest

Taking care of a child can be exhausting, especially with new mothers who are kept awake throughout the day and night. One of the many challenges of motherhood that needs to be talked about is that moms do not get enough sleep and rest just because they are willing to put their children’s needs before their own.

6. Having that ‘mom guilt’

Sometimes, moms and even dads, get this feeling of guilt when raising their children. They get this feeling that they may not be giving and doing enough as a parent. They feel like they are not doing things right or are not making the best decisions for their children, which can affect them eventually in the future.

7. She is doing her best

Regardless of how much mistakes or struggles moms go through, one thing is certain: she is doing her best. She may not be able to provide the ideal life you want or be the perfect mom, she is trying to give her all to her children no matter what it takes just so she can raise her children to be successful and happy in life.

Parenting can be quite difficult especially if it is your first time, but it is definitely the most beautiful thing one can experience in life. Things will get hard in the long run and you might wish that there is a perfect parenting guide or formula, while in reality there isn’t. The best thing a mother can do is to remind herself that it is okay to feel these things and reach out for support and help. Moms do not have to go through these struggles alone. She can start by reaching out to communities of parents or moms, so she can be able to share these struggles with no judgement with people who can relate to her situation. Or she can openly communicate these challenges to her family so they may be able to lend a helping hand.

As they always say, it takes a village to raise a child and moms should not go through it without any support or help!

You got this, mommies!
