Ellen Adarna and John Lloyd Cruz, much like many other former couples, are confronted with the common hurdle of navigating the division of financial responsibilities for their child.

In a candid Instagram Q&A session on June 30, 2023, Ellen affirmed that John Lloyd consistently meets his financial obligations towards their son, Elias.

With refreshing honesty, she shared that they have reached a mutually agreeable arrangement, and to her pleasant surprise, John Lloyd even surpasses their initial agreement by doubling his contributions.

When Adarna addressed her followers, she began by saying that she often gets asked if John Lloyd Cruz supports their son, to which she responded by saying yes.

She added:

"When he asked me, how much does Elias need, I gave him a breakdown of his basic needs, just his basic needs, and that's 10,000 pesos max.

"But he insisted on doubling it."

Adarna also recognized that John Lloyd can give their son needs. However, she explained:

“I know he’s more than capable of giving more than that, but I told him I cannot accept anything more than P20,000 and that’s it.

And because we are co-parenting, I have my obligations and responsibilities for Elias, so it’s just fair. Anything more than P20,000 for me is just not right. Because he’s not schooling yet, so that’s just basic needs.”

Adarna has also mentioned in previous interviews that John Lloyd has been a good father to Elias. Stating that:

“My son needs him as much as he needs me. I see their relationship and I see how happy my son is when he is around. So that’s why I also have to work on myself.” 

John Lloyd and Ellen's break-up was confirmed in 2020, but rumors about it began to circulate in 2019. Amidst controversy that surrounded their relationship, the two have settled their differences and continue to co-parent their son, Elias. 

At present, Ellen Adarna is married to actor Derek Ramsay while John Lloyd Cruz is in a relationship with Isabel Santos, an artist.
