Becoming a mother changes a woman’s entire life. Right from the time she gets pregnant to meeting her child for the first time, she goes through different types of challenges and surprises. This includes realizing her purpose as a mother. The bond between a mother and her child is undeniably natural. A mother can greatly influence her child’s growth and development, and plays different important roles in their life. Here are the important roles and responsibilities of a mother in their child’s life:
1. She is a provider of safety, security and comfort.
Mothers become the first line of defense when it comes to their children. Being a mother means providing her children with a safe, secure, and comfortable environment, as well as being their emotional support. She protects them from harm, and her presence gives her children security and reassurance. There’s nothing more comforting to a child than his/her mother’s full support.
2. She is the epitome of “home.”
There’s no place like “home.” A mother is the epitome of selfless love, embodying the feeling of safety and warmth. She brings comfort, happiness and understanding to her family. One of the many duties of a mother is to provide a safe space whenever her children are feeling challenged in life. Wherever her children may go, they can always go back home to their mother’s arms.
3. She understands her children the most.
Who can better understand you than your own mother? Most of the time, a mother knows what their child is feeling without saying a word. Likewise, a mother automatically knows why their baby’s crying — either she is hungry or her diaper needs changing. The connection between mother and child is amazing!
4. She’s a teacher and an inspiration.
A mother plays the role of a child’s first teacher. She teaches her child the right values, as well as how to love and care for others. A mother also guides her children to the right path as they continue to grow, serving as an inspiration for them. Children will always follow their mother’s steps. Therefore, it is very easy for a mother to inspire and motivate their child.
5. She’s a giver of unconditional love and support.
No matter what, a mother will always love her child unconditionally. She will always be there for her child — supporting his/her mental and emotional development throughout his/her life.
Indeed, the role of a mother is important. From the birth of her child, a mother shares a special bond with her baby and will always be connected to him/her. This bond continues as a mother plays different roles throughout her child’s life, which can greatly affect how he/she grows up as a person.
