  • While it is normal for most pregnant women to experience symptoms, there are also some that are considered as danger signs during pregnancy. It is important to know the difference between regular symptoms from pregnancy complications so you’ll know when to seek immediate medical attention.

If you have vaginal bleeding with abdominal pain or menstrual-like cramps, it may be a sign of ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy happens when a fertilized egg implants itself outside of the womb. Another reason for vaginal bleeding is due to placental abruption. This is when the placenta gets separated from the inner wall of the uterus, which deprives the baby of oxygen. Lastly, vaginal bleeding could also be a sign of miscarriage. If vaginal bleeding happens during your pregnancy, contact your doctor immediately.
